Elon Musk Launches ‘America Party’ to Shake Up U.S. Politics

Elon Musk has unveiled his latest venture—not in tech, but in politics. On July 5, 2025, he announced the formation of the “America Party”, aiming to give Americans what he calls “real freedom.”

Frustrated with both Democrats and Republicans, Musk is building this new political platform to focus on fiscal responsibility, free speech, deregulation, and family growth. He’s not aiming to run for president (at least for now), but instead wants to target a few key Senate and House races where tight margins can be flipped.

Instead of starting with a full-fledged political party, he might first operate through a Super PAC, which allows him to fund campaigns and support candidates aligned with his views.

Musk’s bold move comes after public clashes with Donald Trump and criticism of recent government spending bills. While supporters say it’s time for a fresh voice in politics, critics warn it could split conservative votes and help Democrats in the 2026 elections.

Whether the America Party grows into a real force or fades like past third-party efforts remains to be seen—but Musk has already changed the conversation.
